Sublime
They’ve put their past behind them,
The chasing and the fights;
Found common ground between them,
And stopped the barks and bites.
Gazing out the window,
They watch the world go by;
And contemplate their nature
As rain falls from the sky.
I wonder what they’re thinking,
The could the would and should?
I always think their thinking
Exceeds what’s understood.
A journey all are sharing,
This travel through our time;
Be dog or cat or willow,
These scenes I find sublime.
